Collaborative Advocacy
”Collaboracy”
For you
If you’re in a conflict but prefer not to sit down with the other side, Collaboracy is for you.
With Collaboracy, you work with a dedicated Conflict Advocate who will listen to you, understand your situation and help you think through ideas on how to proceed.
You will feel heard, validated & understood.
You will gain new perspective on the conflict.
You will identify the values, needs and identities that matter to you.
You will develop solutions that meet your values and needs.
For both parties
Each individual works with a Conflict Advocate who serves as your individual conflict coach. Together, you identify the values, needs and identity issues that matter most to you.
After you develop possible ideas for resolving the conflict, your Conflict Advocate meets with the other side’s Conflict Advocate.
Together, the Conflict Advocates seek to come up with an agreement that meets their client’s values and needs.
After developing the draft agreement, the Collaborative Advocates go back to their clients to get feedback. The agreement is only final after both sides agree.
Benefits
You have a trained Advocate who specializes in Conflict Resolution to help you work through the situation.
You will be heard, understood, and validated by your Advocate.
You don’t have to interact with the other person in the conflict (unless at any point you both decide you want to.)
You retain control of whether an agreement is reached and what it contains.
